We have a long history that stems back more than a century, when the Bank of New South Wales established its first branch in Fiji in 1901. Nine years later, the first branch in Papua New Guinea opened, followed by Vanuatu in 1971, Tonga in 1974, Samoa in 1977, the Solomon Islands in 1985 and the Cook Islands in 1988.
Our role in the Pacific is more than simply providing banking and financial services. It’s about being part of the stability and security of a sound financial system, playing an integral role in the local economy and contributing to the social and environmental wellbeing of local communities.
